Geology and nature enthusiasts have an unmissable appointment next Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Lleida. The UNESCO Global Geopark Orígens is organizing a new edition of Geolodía, a guided and completely free excursion to discover the geological secrets of the province.
On this occasion, the expedition will delve into the impressive Serra del Montsec and explore the fascinating phenomenon of the Montclús landslide. Led by expert geologists, participants will have the opportunity to understand the rich geological history of this unique territory.
The day will unfold at two key locations:
- Port d’Àger Viewpoint: Strategically located in the heart of the Orígens Geopark, this enclave will offer an exceptional panoramic view of the Sierra del Montsec. The guides will explain in detail the complex stratigraphic series that make up this majestic mountain range, differentiating its western (Montsec d’Ares) and eastern (Montsec de Rúbies) sectors.
