The “Festa dels Tres Tombs” of Àger is a popular celebration which commemorates the traditional blessing of animals in honor of Saint Anthony Abbot, the patron saint of animals.
During this festival, it is customary for participants, with their animals and vehicles, to make three laps (or “tombs”) around the village, symbolizing divine protection for animals and crops. In Àger, this tradition has adapted to modern times, and currently includes the participation of tractors and other agricultural vehicles, in addition to traditional animals. Participants decorate their vehicles and pets for the occasion, and meet to parade through the streets of the municipality, receiving the blessing of the local priest.
This year returns with its VIII edition and eager to enjoy it to the fullest!
